I am Woman and I am Worthy.
From a kid who was scared and lonely unable to communicate with words, to a woman who sits, walks, eats, drinks, dances, sings, expresses, pleasures and howls in the fullness of who she is.
As a kid I didn’t know how to communicate, answer questions with more than a nod or shake of the head, or how to make friends. I waited for a domineering class mate to pick me up as theirs and boss me around at will, did I mind? I don’t know. I didn’t have a clue who I was, what my likes were, or what I wanted. I was disconnected from my body, I was in a constant state of anxiety and didn’t like eating because of the nausea from my fight of flight button that was stuck “on” and had no idea how to turn it to “off”.
It only took me nearly 37 years to figure it out! I finally fixed the dodgy switch and replaced it with a dimmer button, to move smoothly from an activated nervous system to an activated parasympathetic nervous system, our rest and digest state.
I now make it a daily ritual to come home to my body, to tether my mind-body connection. Otherwise I would float away with my mind like a balloon into the sky forgetting what the ground ever felt like. Maybe you sometimes feel like this too, so caught up in your thoughts and imaginings you seem a million miles away from being rooted into the earth. Maybe there are many of our minds floating up there in the sky like balloons getting pushed around by the current of the wind and weather around us.
We are, on the whole, disconnected. It’s the world we live in, forging disconnection because it benefits a few. And so that feeling of “being home” or “coming home” is often non existent. We’re disconnected to our biological home of our physical body. We’re disconnected to our physical home of our community and family. And we’re disconnected to our biggest home, our Earth, the land we walk on.
Our Society encourages this, using and abusing the earth as we please, like the earth isn’t a living and breathing being beneath us, feeding us, holding us and evolving with us. And we do the same to our bodies (I’m talking on the whole, a general mindset that has seeped into the nation) filling ourselves with unhealthy thoughts, media, food. We are more disconnected and lonely than we have ever been, our families are scattered across the glove and we have forgotten “it takes a village”, today we’re lucky if a neighbour even looks at us, let alone smiles. (Ok I’m being dramatic, I have lovely neighbours, but you get my gist!)
Returning home to our bodies, returning home to our wombs is a revolutionary act in the face of society’s dismantling of woman and what woman means other than a commodity. When we do, we go against the way our society is designed, built and run because then we know who we are, how we feel and what we desire. We function and flow with our own body’s rhythm, we are connected to our seasons, intuition and potent creativity. We begin to reclaim all of our lost parts and pieces we left along the way at each crucial phase or experience of our life where we were not embodied. And we begin to feel whole once again.
And from here we know our worth. From here we know we are born worthy. We are worthy enough to take rest, to know when we need it. We are worthy enough to not push or force an outcome but to relax and align before taking our action. We are worthy enough of our own love, of giving ourselves all of the love, but opening our hearts for ourselves, of loving ourselves because, why would we not? And when we are full of selflove we exude a power, an energy that isn’t arrogant or ego driven, it is peaceful, it is peaceful power. We beam bright and are magnetic, we attract abundance and joy and pleasurable experiences. We walk knowing we have the wisdom in our wombs of our ancestors, connected to the wisdom of our Mother Earth, the most wisest woman that has ever been.
And when we stop and open our mouth to speak the words that sing out, they are potent and powerful, casting magic one phrase at a time. Expressing your natural truth in each moment, again not forced or pushed, but delivered right on time, relaxed, allowing yourself to feel that alignment first. And when we speak the birds sing back, the butterflies open their wings and the seeds in our soils begin to awaken. We are the power that creates life, that stirs and generates cosmic shifts.
We are here because we have purpose. And our purpose is our presence, our pure divine presence. This presence of being connected to our wombs, our hearts, our expression, connected to who we are, what we need, and how we wish to live our lives. It is from this purpose that is peaceful and powerful that we cast magic, and it is from here that we don’t give a fuck about what the world wants us to be, or how, or who. It is also from here we know our fucking worth. And it is from here that we shall change the world for the better, letting every woman know they are worthy.
I am woman and I am Worthy.
